Blue Jays recall right-hander Mitch White forward of debut vs. Twins

The Toronto Blue Jays have formally recalled right-hander Mitch White from triple-A Buffalo, and he will probably be lively for Saturday’s recreation in opposition to the Minnesota Twins.

Trent Thornton was optioned to Buffalo in a corresponding transfer.

White will make his debut for the Blue Jays as pitching coach Pete Walker confirmed on Friday.

The 27-year-old was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Los Angeles Dodgers together with Alex De Jesus in change for Nick Frasso and Moises Brito.

White is sporting a 1-2 file with a 3.70 ERA and 1.250 WHIP in 56 innings of labor this season.

The Blue Jays wanted a starter for Saturday after Ross Stripling was positioned on the 15-day injured listing with a glute/hip pressure earlier this week.

White hasn’t pitched since July 26 when he gave up two runs on 9 hits in six innings in a no-decision in opposition to the Washington Nationals.
