Gaby Lewis, the captain of Ireland, won the toss and chose to bat first, but the visitors lost four batsmen for just 58 runs in 14 overs, making it an early poor choice.

India got off to a great start in the second innings, chasing 239. Pratika Rawal played a steady knock on the other end, and Smriti Mandhana, the stand-in captain, took the initiative to attack. In just the ninth over, they scored fifty runs.
Mandhana top-edged a slog-sweep against Freya Sargent for 41 (29), was out with the score at 70. India passed the 100-run mark as Harleen Deol and Rawal steadied the innings, but the former was dismissed.
When Jemimah Rodrigues was also stumped for nine, India looked like they would falter, but Tejal Hasabnis and Rawal remained steadfast. In 69 balls, the latter quickly reached her half-century.
Rawal accelerated near her ton when Hasabnis steadily raised the run-rate from her end and achieved her first ODI half-century. Despite hitting two boundaries and a six, she lost by 11 runs in the end.
After a six-wicket victory in just 34.3 overs, Richa Ghosh blasted consecutive boundaries to seal the deal.
Freya Sargent claimed 1/38 and Aimee Maguire claimed three wickets for 57 runs in her eight overs for Ireland. However, four other bowlers failed to claim any wickets.
